12A- Figuring out Buyer Behavier
Segment: College students
What I learned:
Through interviewing three people I learned that not everyone who has this need will not always use my application. The first person I interviewed said that she has downloaded an app that has similar features but did not accurately report the wait times at the bars. This app also did not offer the feature that allows my customers to reserve their spot in line while they are still at their own house. The other two people I interviewed were very similar. They as also shared the need to find a solution to the long lines at the bar. When I told them about my app idea they both thought it was an excellent idea. They were also skeptical on how accurate the wait times would be. I told them that I think the wait times could be very accurate because they will be generated by other app users and we will get information from each bars manager.
How I would describe this segment?
The segment of college students has a huge need for my product. The only problem is many of them do not believe that an app can be that accurate about all the wait times. The last thing they want is an app that lies about the wait times and just causes their problem to get worse. I think that as long as the application posted accurate wait times this segment would be a possible key.

Hey Eric,
ReplyDeleteI was very interested in your blog this week as it caught my eye with all the interviews and different things that you noticed throughout this process. I agree that college students needed to be your segment of people to target and it seemed that you learned a lot from the interviews that you conducted. Every application has issues, but I am sure with the right technology and fixing that your application can be legitimately utilized in many different colleges. I think this application has plenty of potential and can succeed. Overall, great post and details.
Hey Eric!
ReplyDeleteIt is great that your interviewees provided different points of view for your app. This will definitely help you develop a accurate program. The idea of app users generating the wait time would be useful because the bar employees are probably to busy to update the wait times. There are many apps that allow the user to post wait times, traffic delay, etc. and they are all pretty successful and accurate.
