22A- Elevator Pitch 3

Here is the link to my pitch https://youtu.be/3MXaMzXomGg

21A- Reading Reflection

I read "How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big. 1. The general theme of this book was to never give up. Scott Adams shares his story of repeated failures or incomplete ventures. He used these failures to motivate himself and eventually became the creator of the famous cartoon Dilbert. 2. I think this book connected greatly with the information in this class. Adams was an entrepreneur. He tried many different things and seemed to keep failing. Whether a venture failed due to money, copyright issues or anything else, he didn't let it stop him. He would use his failure and learn from it. Learned what he could of done better to make sure that the final product or service was successful. 3. If I had to design an assignment for this class based on this book I would have the students list out ten things that they have "failed" in their life so far. Then I would ask them to write why they failed and what they would do different. I think this would give student...

20A- Growing Your Social Capital

1. The first person I spoke with was my fathers friend, Steve Dicapria. He owns two restaurants in Miami, and has been in the industry ever since he graduated from the University of Connecticut. 2 . He is an expert on my target market, young adults ages 18-25. 3. I have known him ever since I was a little kid. My dad has been friends with him ever since he lived in Connecticut in the 80s. To contact him, I simply just called him and asked to talk about his business. 4. He told me multiple "tips" on how to get young adults to use your product. He noted that the key to this is to keep up with trends that are going on. For example, social media is a key trend in this generation right now. 5. Steve could fit in to my network because he would be willing to allow is restaurant to use the app as a trial. He liked the idea and thought that it could help him generate business. He also knows many people in the industry that he could get me in contact with. 1. The second perso...

19A- Idea Napkin 2

1. My name is Eric Wendell. I am from Tampa, FL but go to school at the University of Florida. I am organized, people- oriented, and a leader. I am experienced with technology and have multiple certifications. My aspirations are to be a leader in the industry. If I made this app,  my goal would be for it to make every bar/restaurant better business. 2. I am offering a application that allows people to see the line or wait time at any local bars or restaurants. The app will say wait times and it will allow the user to check in so that they do not have to wait in line when the arrive. 3. My customers will be mostly college aged young adults living in college towns or towns that have popular nightlife. Many of these people are students who live the definition of the work hard, play hard lifestyle. 4. Customers will pay for this for many reasons. College towns are notorious for having crowded bars and long lines. This will allow students to prepare for it as well as check in to t...

18A Create a Customer Avatar

Image
My application can be used by all people. I have specifically targerted college students who living in their college town. This is due to the amount of bars that are usually packed into small areas near big universities. My prototypal customer is a someone who lives in a college town, enjoys night life, and has a large social life. Stereotypically, this is many college students. These students work hard on school all day long and often times are up all night studying to pass an exam. With all of this hard work they often want to decompress. this often involves going out. Midtown at UF is a perfect place to do this. There are many bars and restaurants all over but often times the lines are so long. This customer often leaves the bars and goes home or to somewhere in a different area just to avoid the lines. This makes it hard for them to see all their friends. This customer is a perfect example of the work hard play hard lifestyle. They often drive scooters and live in small apartments...

17A Elevator pitch 2

https://youtu.be/rRcCH6jJd6k That is the link to my pitch. The one thing that I really took from the feedback from my first elevator pitch was to relate to the people who will be downloading this app. I tried to do that by tying in that waiting in line is something we do multiple times of the day. Anytime you buy something, you usually have to wait in a line. There are countless examples.

15A- Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

Report findings and draw conclusions All three interviews I conducted created a new pathway for this opportunity. The first one made a suggestion that was very interesting. There could be a fast pass fee that charges a set fee to completely skip the line when you show up to the bar. I think this is a great idea as long as the price doesn't not get too expensive. The second person I interviewed thought that the idea of the app was great, but thought it might be hard to actually put into practice. She is skeptical about how willing the bars and restaurants will be to corporate with the app. She thinks that the app should offer things back to the bar, like free marketing and events. The last person I interviewed had an idea that the app could have a social media side to it. He said that people could make accounts, check in to different locations and share if they having a good time or not, what the crowd is like, what the deals of the night are and most importantly, how long is the ...
